The Accommodation

Based at our beautiful 250 year old Cortijo surrounded by terraces abundant with sub tropical planting set in 10 acres of natural beauty, overlooking stunning scenery, with the emphasis on relaxation and tranquility. Birdsong reminds you how much closer nature is here. Stroll down one of the caminos to discover the shade under one of the ancient olive trees nestling in the sunny valley below our own mountain. Here you will discover an occasional seat allowing you to absorb the atmosphere, private and perfect for chilling!

Our aim is to be as ecologically friendly as possible and with this in mind we use solar and wind power. The garden is drip fed using re-cycled gray water.

The gardens are a mix of palms, yuccas, cordylines, succulents and wild flowers that blend into the hillside of Rosemary and Thyme. Tracks lead down to our secluded olive groves. The area is a natural habitat for Bee-Eaters, Hoopoos, Rollers, and the occasional Eagle. By sundown the air comes alive with the clicking of Cicadas and Crickets.

Arco-Iris Casita

From the sunrise terrace with stunning views, enter through the Spanish style kitchen area into the salon with vaulted ceiling, decorated in Moorish style, with a selection of reading material. French doors lead out onto a further terrace overlooking the distant village and mountains. There are two twin or double bedded rooms and a large twin or *kingsize bedded room. Each has a spacious en-suite shower room, and planted courtyards adjoining. The kitchen is supplied with coffee, teas, and juices for when extra refreshments are required. Some of the terraces have covered seating areas for those wishing for shade. Our cortijo is blessed with 360° views by day and evenings can be spent simply enjoying total relaxation whilst being in awe of the beautiful clear nightsky.

* The kingsize bedded room can accommodate 3 single beds.( A supplement of £50 is payable for the larger bedroom or single occupancy of a double room ).

Food

All meals are prepared and cooked using organic fruit and vegetables from our own garden and local market, with free range eggs from our happy chickens. Bread is baked and delivered daily from the Panaderia in the village. Wine is served with meals. Special diets can be catered for if requested at time of booking.

Sunrise

For early risers a dramatic sunrise can be viewed rising above the nearby village from one of the terraces. It is highly recommended to set alarms a little earlier than normal!

Sunset

But even more dramatic is the lightshow put on by nature at each sunset.

Fruit juices, coffee and a selection of teas are readily available, at all times.

One of the evening meals will be at a local Spanish restaurant/bar where meat is cooked over an open fire. All inclusive. The self contained Casita is available for Bed and Breakfast and Self Catering when not in use for residential courses and other events from March to October.
